Clarkstown police are remembering a beloved member of their department.

They say K-9 officer Remy has passed away.

Remy served alongside his handler, retired police officer Reekie.

Remy has named after Welles Remy Crowther, who lost his life on 9/11 trying to save coworkers and strangers trapped in the south tower of the World Trade Center.

Police officers say Remy will be remembered for his courage, loyalty and dedication.
