Man shot outside waterfront restaurant in Newburgh

The male victim was located at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with what appears to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police.

A man was shot outside of a restaurant on the Newburgh waterfront early Saturday morning.
City of Newburgh police say they responded around 2:25 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert on Front Street. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting, including a vehicle that had been struck.
News 12 was alerted to the incident by a tipster, who said the shooting happened near Billy Joe’s Ribworks. A representative for Billy Joe’s Ribworks says the shooting occurred off of the property, closer to the ferry dock.

The Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force and city detectives are investigating.
