Multiple Yonkers firefighters were treated at hospitals overnight following a house fire on Stockbridge Road.
Crews responded around 2 a.m. to reports of smoke. When fire officials arrived, they noticed a heavy fire on the first floor.
According a release from fire officials, responders faced “significant challenges accessing the structure due to the home's elevation, its setback from the street, and a substantial accumulation of personal belongings."
The fire eventually spread throughout the residence, forcing firefighters to transition to exterior operations.
One firefighter was transported to a trauma center. He was listed in stable condition and is expected to be released. Several other firefighters, according to the department, sustained minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was inside the home when the fire began or if anyone was displaced.
