Police are searching for two people on a motorcycle who they say robbed a 23-year-old man at gunpoint outside of a gas station in Throgs Neck, then rode off with $57,000 worth of valuables.
It happened shortly after midnight on July 11 at the Mobil gas station near Throgs Neck Expressway and Lawton Avenue.
Police said the robbers rode off with the victim’s wallet, cellphone and gold chain with a pendant.
“Maybe [the victim] shouldn’t be carrying around so much valuable stuff on him at a gas station, which are always targets,” said Sean Boland, of Throgs Neck.
“I wouldn’t come by myself to pump any gas if I had that much value on me,” said Jackie Velazquez, of Throgs Neck.
Police said no one was hurt.
Police ask anyone with information to give them a call.
