Police: Knife-wielding man caught after break-in in Ulster County

Ellenville police say 27-year-old Brian Ventura climbed onto a small porch roof on Mill Street yesterday morning, removed a security camera, and smashed a window to get inside.

A man was arrested after breaking into a home with a knife in Ulster County, according to authorities.

Ellenville police say 27-year-old Brian Ventura climbed onto a small porch roof on Mill Street yesterday morning, removed a security camera, and smashed a window to get inside.

He allegedly began stabbing at the residents through the window but ran off when they called 911.

Officers later found Ventura at the Valero gas station on Route 209 and recovered the knife and stolen camera.

He is due in court Friday.
