Dozens of health care workers at a West Nyack facility went on strike on Tuesday.
The employees at Rockland Pulmonary say they have been in contract negotiations with WMCHealth for the past eight months.
They say they are fighting for fair pay, better benefits and an end to worker intimidation.
Union leaders, like Angela Lane, said they filed charges against the company for intimidation allegations, which the union believes are violations of federal labor laws.
"They made unilateral changes to job descriptions," Lane said. "[They] threatened to close the offices if they continue to go the union route, and even told some of the employees to quit if they don't like the rules here."
Officials from WMCHealth said they have bargained in good faith and hope that union leaders will meet with them to reach a good deal. They also said they put a contingency plan in place to make sure doctors and patients aren't disrupted during the strike.
