Utility bills in New York are going up for Central Hudson customers under a newly approved three-year rate plan.
The Public Service Commission lowered the company's original request by more than $17 million for electric and $800,000 for gas in the first year, officials said.
Electric bills will still rise about 3.5% and gas bills more than 5% for average customers in year one.
Low-income discounts will expand through the state's Energy Affordability Program, officials said.
