State police say a pedestrian was struck and killed on the northbound side of the Thruway around 1:30 a.m. Friday. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident occurred just before Exit 14 for Nanuet. One northbound lane was closed during the investigation but reopened around 8 a.m.

The deadly accident is less than a mile north of Monday morning's accident that killed 47-year-old Steven Redner, of Tallman.
Investigators say Redner was broken down on the shoulder of the northbound side of the Thruwayaround 12:30 a.m., but his car was partially in the lane. Police say he had no lights on. Another driver traveling northbound rear-ended Redner's car.
